I live
in Bronx New York on this morning I laid in bed resting dozing. I
was thinking about how I needed some rest so that I would be up
when they delivered my husbands Birthday Cake. My mother called me
and I heard the news. Jumping up I turned on the TV and saw the
Twin Towers ablaze. It all seemed like a movie that wasn't
real. I rubbed my eyes and watched still in wonder that this was
happening. I got online and while chatting with a friend I saw the
First tower Fall and I shuddered and thought about all the people on the
street. Then the second one fell and I thought about my older
sisters who work in Manhattan, My father, My little Sister who
goes to school not that far away, One of my friends who was a bridesmaid
at my wedding.
WHO WOULD DO THIS TO
INNOCENT PEOPLE? WHY DID THEY DO THIS?
In Palestine they were CELEBRATING like this was a victory over
ISRAEL. HELLO THIS IS AMERICA!!!! Here in the USA
there are Palestine people cheering and celebrating also AND THEY LIVE
HERE!!!! How can anyone be happy when innocent people die how can
they be so horrible and callous. They find it a honor to die in action.
They believe that they go straight to Paradise when they die like this.
Ready to kill and be killed to bring Terror to Millions of people.
The Arabic Community here are the USA are suffering also. They are
being threatened and beaten. They cant open their
businesses. I had a sticker on my door from the previous residents
who were Muslim and my husband right away scraped it off. Arabic
people who really didn't have anything to do with this incident are
being hurt. Women, Children taken off the street and beaten to the
point they have to be hospitalized. It is being said that 2 men
have been shot and killed in the store they owned. My husband went
out to the store on the night of the attack and couldn't find the Arabic
owned stores we usually buy things from open. The next night was
the same. On the 3rd night some were open but many young men would
go by the stores and point their fingers ( Like a Gun ) at the owners
and say "BUCK BUCK BUCK!" Imitating Gun shots.
I thought about the people on the planes and how they are gone. I
thought about the people who jumped because they didn't want to burn to
death. The people on the street running for their lives. I
thought about how I used to feel, that I was pretty much safe here in
the USA. We have problems here but by far we are the best country
to live in. I am not patriotic I don't fly the American flag, and
sing the Star Spangled Banner. I do know that I wouldn't want to
live anywhere else because America is as they say The Land of the
Free. Even with all the horrible things Minorities have
lived through here. Even with the bad things that we still go
through. We do have Freedom of Religion and belief. We have
much more Freedom than any other country in the World.
I
continued to watch the News. I heard the Fighter Planes &
Helicopters pass over head. Ambulances racing by. Police
cars and sirens going off. Watching the People on TV walking and
running to escape Manhattan. Knowing that they are talking into
cell phones that hardly work. Seeing the SMOKE this horrible
SMOKE, Choking and covering everyone. Thank God my family is
ok and everyone is safe. Though I still haven't heard from my
friend. I heard how the Pentagon was hit and how a plane crashed
near Camp David. Instant Messages and Email were abundant and many
people knowing I live in New York wanted to know if I was ok. I
was not directly affected but my heart was affected and my sense of
safety affected. I didn't want to make this page but I felt that I
should do something. I wanted to just forget but I realize I
cant.
Night here was an eerie silence as I saw how all the streets in
Manhattan were bare which is something that is never heard of at any
hour. Then hearing how Newspapers would not be ready in the
morning since the printers were in 2 different location here in NYC and
you cant get to either of them. NYC schools are closed for
Wednesday EVERY SCHOOL including Catholic. The News updates are
constant, All channels are set for News only. It is very hard
to get calls into New York. I heard from my daughters aunt
that in Buffalo they actually had people complaining about not being
able to fly out of state. How stupid are these people if they let people fly
who knows who else will be hijacked and killed next. We ate
Birthday Cake in silence as we watched the news into the
night It is something that I will always
remember. How can you forget!
It is such a shame with the horrible event of the Twin Towers being hit
and then collapsing. With all the sorrow that we feel.
People are taking advantage of it. Some are calling people and
claiming that they are collecting money to help. But that is a not
true. People are calling in Bomb threats, making many people
scared and causing them to flee. Some individuals tried to sneak into the area
around the world trade and
steal, one man almost got away with over 3,000.00 in watches. One
woman actually went to some firemen and said that she was talking to her
husband on the Cell phone. She said that her husband is a
firefighter and is alive under the rubble with 9 other officers all
alive. Of course this caused a commotion and many people risked
their safety to save people who are not even there. They found out
the woman made up the whole story. How insane do you have to be to cause
more trouble during a time when obviously we have enough to deal with?

eerily appear in the smoke billowing from the blasted World Trade
Center buildings in New York. At least, that's what many horrified
people around the country have seen in this Associated Press photo
below. The Associated Press was contacted and said the photo has not
been touched up in any way.
