This Darling is my Mindy. 

She is the Perfect little lady.  Always ready for love and kisses.

With just a look she will roll on her back Tummy up for a Rub.

She shows her hunting side by chasing my little birds.

With a bark the size of a Rottweiler she causes much attention.

When people realize the size she truly is, they are very surprised.  

33 inches long, from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail.

She is the sweetest little bundle of love and joy.

	My name is Mindy.  I am what is called a Dachshund.  I am a Smooth Miniature,  Black and Tan in color.  I must say I am a cutie.  My first human Mommy was named Lori.  I grew up with my Dachshund Mom, Dad and other siblings.  We had a nice family with kids and toys and lots of attention.  I loved it there and I was treated shown so much love.  But then one day my human Mommy Lori said that I would have a new Mommy.  She packed me up in a crate with my blanket, food and water.  she put me in the car and drove me to an Airport.  Lori gave me kisses goodbye and with tears in her eyes she left.  I was by myself in my crate, in Tennessee.  "A new Mommy." I thought "Where is she?"
	I was finally put on one plane and then another.  It took so long because they had delays.  "My new Mommy must be worried."  I thought,  "I am  hours and hours late."  After a long flight I landed in New York City, and a nice man came running to get me.  My new Daddy and Grandfather were waiting for me, everyone had been looking for me, they thought I was lost.  I was a little shy at first, but my new Daddy hugged me and gave me a kiss.  The nice man who worked there (A dachshund lover to.) gave me a warm shirt to be cuddled in.  They called my first Mommy Lori in Tennessee to tell her I was Ok, then we took a cab drive home. While we were driving home I wondered,  "Where is my new Mommy,  Isn't she suppose to be here?"  My Daddy and Grandfather brought me to a building and up some stairs.  This place is sure different than Tennessee.
	We went into a door and it was very quite.  My Daddy took me into a room and then I saw her.  She was smiling at me and making little noises.  It was my new Mommy,  She is awful big and soft.  She looked liked she had been taking a nap, but she was glad to see me.  She hugged me and played with me.  I kissed her face and made her squeal when I licked her ear.  She sure smells Good.  Then more people came.  I have a Auntie, a Uncle, and a  Sister, and there is another Dachshund here to, named Martie. He treats me really nice.  They say Me and Martie will get married one day and maybe have some puppers of our own.  But right now I just like to chase him and play.  I love my new family so much and I know they love me.
